About Back Issues

The Magazine Exchange websites contain listings of thousands of back-issue magazines in various categories. The majority of titles are from the United Kingdom, but there are also large numbers of American publications, plus examples from a variety of other countries. Where the language of the magazine is anything other than English, the appropriate country flag is displayed, but it should also be obvious from the title and contents listing.

The back-issue magazines we sell date from the 1940s to the present day, and are all either second-hand or 'new unsold stock'. The majority of issues shown are stocked directly by us, but in some cases may be sent to you by a publisher or other third-party on our behalf.

There are essentially two ways to find specific magazine issues - either by navigating straight to that issue through the menu system (ie. Catagory - Title - Year - Month etc), or by using the 'Search' facility to generate a list of issues with articles on a particular subject or topic.

Each magazine issue has it's own page on the website, with it's contents listing shown, plus details on the number of pages, condition, whether any 'extras' are included and so on. This information is given as a guide only, and cannot be guarenteed to be accurate for any individual copy of that issue which we may supply. Also shown is whether the magazine is available to buy (a magazine is in stock if the 'Add to Basket' button is displayed) and the price, which is often discounted by 50% if we have multiple copies in stock.

Magazines may be purchased directly through the website, or by telephone or mail-order if you prefer. We accept a wide variety of payment methods, and orders can be sent by post to any country in the world.

Finally, please note that contrary to what some customers assume, Magazine Exchange does not operate a retail shop where you can come along and browse through our 100,000 or so magazines on the shelf! We do however attend a small number of shows and exhibitions in the UK each year, but naturally are only able to take a fraction of our stock to these events.
