Placing an Order The Magazine Exchange websites feature the now familiar 'shopping basket' style on-line ordering system which enables customers to buy magazines quickly and securely via the internet. You should find making a purchase through this website to be very straightforward, but if you have any doubts the whole process is explained in step-by-step detail below. If you prefer not to use the on-line system for any reason we are also happy to receive orders by telephone or post.
In order to purchase a magazine, you must first navigate to that magazine's page on the website (see earlier Help Center pages for help with this if required). The appearance of the page will vary slightly depending upon which Magazine Exchange site you are on, but will typically look similar to the one shown below. The 'Add to Basket' button will only be displayed if the magazine in question is in stock and available to purchase. To start the process of buying the magazine, click the 'Add to Basket' button, and wait for a new page to appear.
The page shown below is the next to appear; if you wish to buy more than one copy of the chosen magazine you may enter the quantity required here. Note that we may only have a single copy in stock, in which case we will inform you by email and amend the order as required once it has been received.
If you think you may wish to add further magazines to your order click the 'Continue Shopping' button, which will allow you to continue browsing the website. If you are sure you are ready to complete your order click the 'Go To Checkout' button, which will take you to Step 3 below:
This screen displays a summary of the items you have added to your shopping basket, and asks you to select from the drop-down list the country to which the order is to be sent. The second drop down list (states / provinces) should be ignored unless you had previously chosen either the USA or Canada as the destination country. The arrowed box can be used to indicate whether your 'Delivery Address' will be different to your 'Invoice Address'; if for example you are sending the magazines to a friend as a gift, or simply want the parcel delivered to your work address for convienence, click on this box now and an extra screen will appear later for a seperate delivery address to be entered Finally, click the 'Next' button to continue to Step 4
You are now asked to enter your 'Invoice Address'. This is the customer's home address, and must be the same address as registered with the payment method you use; your order will be rejected if for instance you pay using a credit card that is not registered to the invoice address you have entered. Beneath the address is the 'Remember Me' box; if this box is clicked your address details will be saved, and will not need to be entered again on any subsequent orders. Note that this facilty will only work if 'Cookies' are enabled on your computer - see the Privacy & Security section in the Help Centre for more information on Cookies. Also shown on this page is the delivery rate for your order, based upon the destination country you had previously selected. Overseas customers are shown the delivery rates for both Air Mail or Surface Mail services, and asked to select the option they prefer. Finally, click the 'Next' button to continue to Step 5
This is the final stage of the ordering process, where you enter your payment information, and also the delivery address if you had previously selected the 'different delivery & invoice addresses' option. The drop-down list arrowed allows you to select between the three payment options available: 'Credit
or Debit Card' These three options are explained in detail in the 'Payment Methods' section in the Help Centre. Select the payment option you require and, in the case of Credit or Debit Cards, select the card type and enter the details in the boxes beneath. Please take care to ensure that all payment information is entered correctly, before finally clicking the 'Next' button at that bottom of the page, which actually sends the order to us.
After clicking the 'Next' button a Receipt Page is displayed confirming all the details of your order. The same information will be sent to you by email. You may chose to print a copy of this information for your records. At this stage you have just sent a copy of your order to us; no payment has yet been taken, and the order has not yet been processed. All orders (whether received on-line, or by telephone or post) are processed manually - the magazines that have been ordered are collated, checked and carefully packed. Only at this stage, when we know that all the required items are available and no problems exist, we will process your payment - in the case of card payments this is a very quick process and your magazines will be despatched immediately. Other payment methods, such as Pay Pal payments, cheque payments and so on, require us to email a pro-forma invoice to the customer. Only when payment is finally received from the customer will the ordered goods be despatched. |
